Modern
Age
This shop is always worth a visit
– if for no other reason than it is situated a way past
the main markets - so the good stuff hasn’t already
been bought up by the hordes. It’s a friendly shop that
encourages browsing through its large stock of 50’s,
60’s and 70’s clothes for men and women. There
are a lot of great suits, Hawaiian shirts, leather jackets
and trousers for men and a good selection coats, dresses and
jackets for women. Modern Age specialises in hiring out unusual
evening wear and much of its stock is available to either
buy or hire. Modern Age: Open all week, 10.30am to 6pm. 65
Chalk Farm Road, London NW1. (between Chalk Farm Tube and
the Stables Market). Tel: 020 7482 3787
